Let's have a look at how it works.

About the English Australia CPD Framework

The EA CPD framework is a tool you can use to assess and track your own professional development.

It covers 9 areas of teaching practice:

1. Language learning and language teaching methodologies
2. Understanding the learner
3. Assessment, feedback and reporting
4. Managing the lesson
5. Lesson and course planning
6. Content knowledge/knowledge of specialisation
7. Technology enhanced learning and teaching
8. Professional engagement, reflective practice and research
9. Intercultural communication

Each area is broken into four broad phases of teaching competency: Foundation, Developing, Accomplished and Lead.

English Australia CPD points

In the English Australia CPD Framework system, activities are assigned CPD points according to the time and type of activity.
English Australia recommends the following as a guideline for the annual number of points:

How we've aligned The Learning Circle

All Learning Circle courses and events align with the descriptors in the English Australia CPD framework.

So you can identify the events and courses that meet your individual professional development needs.

The course or event overview outlines the learning objectives, how it aligns with the EA framework, and how many CPD points you will receive upon completion.
Our live events are worth 3 CPD points and each 20 minute self paced course is worth 1 CPD point.

You'll need to actively participate and demonstrate your understanding of the key concepts in order to complete our events and courses.

Easy record keeping

Upon completion of a course or a live event, you are issued with a certificate, containing a badge identifying the number of CPD points and the areas of the CPD framework it aligns to.

Certificates are stored for easy access in your Learning Circle Portfolio, along with your badges and personalised profile details.

This is what your profile looks like:
